  • The South African halfback is a renowned on-field pest, and he killed the ball when the Wallabies had advantage inside the Springboks’ 22.

He was subsequently shown a yellow card and has left his team under the pump.

The Wallabies ran a lineout play identical to the one which led to Andrew Kellaway’s try on Sunday and almost managed a carbon copy of the result.

But an errant pass five out from the Springboks’ line saw the ball lost forward and the South Africans forced a scrum penalty to clear their half.

We’re under way at Suncorp Stadium.

Let’s see if the Wallabies can back up Sunday’s shock win.

Keep it tuned to this page for updates, highlights and analysis.

It’s time for the Welcome to Country and national anthems.

    After that, it’s game on.

Wallabies fans were partying like it was 1999 last Sunday.

    For good reason, too.

Quade Cooper’s work with the kicking tee was the best this century. That’s some achievement given it was his first Test since 2017.

These on-field, pre-match interviews on Nine and Stan Sport are outstanding.

    More of it please, broadcasters.

There will be fewer eyes on Cooper this week than there was last but he is still rugby’s only box office star.

He spoke to Tom Decent on the eve of his second Test in four years to talk about his return to the international arena and much more.

What do you think? Can Cooper steer the Wallabies to their first back-to-back win against the Springboks since 2016?

    If they’re successful tonight.

The Springboks have plenty to play for, too.

If they lose to the Wallabies by 15 points or more - which seems highly unlikely - and the All Blacks beat Argentina, New Zealand will leap back to No. 1 in the world rankings.

    Tom Decent has more here.

In case you missed it, Michael Hooper will make history tonight.

The superstar openside flanker will captain the Wallabies for the 60th time, eclipsing George Gregan’s previous record of 59 Tests.

We sat down with the Wallabies skipper and one of his former arch-rivals - All Blacks captain Kieran Read - to talk about their time together at Toyota Verblitz earlier this year and much, much more.

You can read that story here.

That’s the question every Australian rugby fan is asking after Sunday’s last gasp win against the world champions.

The 28-26 win was the best of Dave Rennie’s two years in charge and the best performance of Quade Cooper’s 71 Test career.

But the South Africans haven’t dropped back-to-back matches since 2018 and they’ll be desperate to turn the tables on Cooper and co ahead of their 100th Test against the All Blacks in Townsville next weekend.
