Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli spoke to Channel Seven after the game...
Q: You need to tell all the supporters at home how is the knee?
It should be OK, initial tests are pretty good. Just landed awkwardly. I was a bit ginger initially so rather than limp around it was better to use the interchange.
Q: A lot of support around, they were worried about you. What a win, it looked like the Lions got on top a number of times and you kept fighting and going at them.
Itâs what the game asks of us. We know what a quality outfit Brisbane are, especially here when the crowd is loud and pulsating as that. At certain points we thought we were going extra time in a couple of young boys, Bailey Smith, Jack Macrae, couple of the big fellas in the contest needed to score. Iâm sure it was good viewing.
Q: It looks like you have such belief in each other, you keep pushing.
That is finals, whoever can get to the line the best. This is a perfect example of what a finals game is like, we copped one or two punches and fire one or two back. You canât be more proud of a game like that away from home, the last couple of days in quarantine hotel. An important win.
Hereâs more reaction to the Bulldogsâ epic victory...
Jack Macrae was outstanding for the Bulldogs and he spoke to Channel Seven after the game...
Q: Congratulations, what a win.
It would have been a good game to watch and it shows the maturity of the group, we kept coming. They were a great team so to win here, itâs a hard game to win. Iâm so impressed with the boys.
Q: It looked like the Lions got on top a couple of times and you kept pushing back.
We have a lot of self-belief and the coaches and the players, we all live that belief as well. Weâve all played a bit of footy together as now, to keep track of the score and keep pushing.
Q: The last three home and away games you have got criticism but the last two finals you guys have been excellent.
They were winning and scrapping, we had to reset after the Port Adelaide game as a midfield group and be honest about what we need to work on and the boys responded.
And some more reaction...

The siren sounds. The Bulldogs win by a point - 11.13.79 to 11.12.78
That is a September classic if you will ever see one.
English wins the free kick from the centre bounce due to being blocked, he pumps it forward, nobody can take a mark, and from the ensuing chaos, the Dogs scrounge a rushed behind.
Theyâre back in front by a point with 50 seconds to go, 11.13.79 to 11.12.78.
Zac Bailey weaves through traffic, waltzes to 15m out and slots it home easy as you like!
With 1:14 remaining in the game, the scores are tied up again at 11.12.78 apiece.
This is and outrageous finals finish!!
