  • Nic White just etched himself into trivia question history.

A beautiful box kick from inside the Wallabies’ half rolled into touch inside the Springboks’ 22 and under the new rule change, gave the Australians a lineout.

The Wallabies are on the attack.

It hasn’t been Handre Pollard’s night off the kicking tee, but he made the most of a simple shot at goal after Quade Cooper was penalised for not rolling away.

Luckily, it’s a position in which the Wallabies boast plenty of depth.

The Wallabies have an eight point lead with 40 minutes to play against the world’s best team.

Can they kick clear or at the very least, hang on?

    Let’s find out.

The Wallabies just forced a penalty on a South African feed to a scrum five out from their line.

I can’t recall the last time the Springboks were pushed off their ball in such a critical situation. And the Wallabies pack duly celebrated.

Quade Cooper slotted his fourth penalty goal of the night and the Wallabies now have a 19-11 lead at the half-time break.

Remarkably, it’s the first lead they’ve taken into half-time this year.

A penalty from right in front of the South African posts was too good an opportunity for Michael Hooper to pass up.

The playmaker has his third penalty goal of the night and the Wallabies have a five point lead.

There was plenty of inevitability about that.

With Matt Philip in the bin, the Boks went straight back to the rolling maul and this time, the Wallabies couldn’t stop the drive.

Mbonambi fell over the line for his eighth career try, but Handre Pollard couldn’t add the extras.

Matt Philip pulled a Springboks maul which seemed destined for the try line down and was subsequently shown a yellow card by referee Luke Pearce.

Siya Kolisi just returned to the field, leaving the Wallabies with a one-man deficit.

    Take a bow, Samu Kerevi.

The star centre has been Australia’s most dangerous player through the first 15 minutes, and he was the man that made the break and threw a perfect cutout pass to Andrew Kellaway, who added the finishing touch to a sensational play.

    The Wallabies are in front.
