That first-term comeback has set the Americans up nicely. Theyâre up 32-27 against Japan at half-time of this pulsating gold medal match.
Itâs a pretty even contest overall, according to the stats sheet at least, and weâve already seen how quickly both of these teams can score, so this is likely to be a cracker of a second half.
At stake, if you werenât aware, is the very last medal of these Paralympics.
Australian shot-put Paralympian Todd Hodgetts was put through an emotional roller coaster and said he was âangryâ after a team blunder by officials cost him the chance to register a result in his event.
His standing F20 shot put event was shrouded in controversy after three athletes, including Hodgetts, were officially categorised as âdid not startâ when it was deemed they were late to the athletesâ call room before competition.

They were allowed to compete after a protest, but all three were rubbed off the official results list. The Australian athletics team later confirmed Hodgetts was at no fault at all.

Itâs all square at 18-18 at quarter-time after a three-pointer on the buzzer from the USAâs Jacob Williams, which has finished off an epic comeback.
Japan led by eight points with less than three minutes to go but that terrific late rally from the Americans enabled them to completely close off that margin. Game on here.
The Paralympics are about as good as it gets for inspirational tales and backstories, and Tokyo was no exception.
Who had the best? For us, itâs hard to pick between these two - first, the 64-year-old convicted terrorist who was once sentenced to 84 years in prison for his involvement in an alleged murder, but who swam for Spain.

And then thereâs the 18-year-old American Paralympic swimmer whose father tried to kill her with a suicide bomb.

Open to further suggestions. We appreciate itâs a crowded field - so many stories of success over adversity.
Remember when Rowan Crothers bagged a gold medal in the 50m freestyle - and then celebrated wildly on top of the lane rope?

It was the image that stuck with us all after a cracking night one in the pool for Australia, which yielded four gold medals.

The menâs wheelchair basketball final between the USA and Japan is about to start in just a few minutes. Should be a treat of a spectacle. But as we wait, weâll throw this one over to you - what have been your favourite moments of these Paralympic Games?
In a few moments weâll start bobbing up with a few suggestions and some highlights of Tom Decentâs terrific work in Tokyo, but weâre keen to hear what our loyal audience thinks as well.
We mentioned the womenâs sitting volleyball final earlier - thatâs been won by the United States, who have taken gold after a 3-1 victory over China.
In the menâs wheelchair basketball, Great Britain beat Spain 68-58 to claim bronze. The final between the US and Japan is due to start in around 30 minutes.
âLouise is the most amazing support person I could possibly ask for. Itâs funny because weâre such different athletes,â she said.
âWe want the same thing but our approach could not be more different. There was a point in my career where I worried that I wouldnât be that, I couldnât be like Louise. It was her that stopped all of it.
âShe said âyouâre not going to be the next Louise Savage, youâre going to be the first Madison de Rozario. Letâs work out how that looksâ. Going into that race, she held me to a very high standard. Sheâs the most amazing person to have in my corner.â
And while weâre recapping yesterday - spare a though for a no doubt hungover Dylan Alcott, who said he planned to drink âten thousand beersâ after winning another gold in the menâs quad singles final on Saturday, a tournament he says was the hardest heâs ever competed in.

The Australian wheelchair tennis legend also announced these Paralympics will be his last after prevailing 7-6, 6-1 against Sam Schroder from the Netherlands.

In case you missed it yesterday, Curtis McGrathâs brilliant Paralympic campaign continued as the former Afghanistan soldier became the first canoe sprint athlete to win two golds at the same Games.
After defending his menâs kayak single 200m KL2 title in Tokyo on Friday, McGrath made it two medals in two days with a comfortable win in the Vaâa single VL3 200m final at the eventâs Paralympic debut.
