Shai Bolton has won the AFL mark of the year for 2021 for his round eight effort against Geelong.

Bolton took to the sky in the goal square riding Mark Blicavs and taking the ball at the top of his leap.

“I was just waiting there for a while, waiting for them to kick it to me,” Bolton said.

“I guess it was a good mark.”

Don’t worry about the Bulldog getting to the 30-vote mark, he’s up to 27 votes after round 15.

Bontempelli is expected to slow down in the final few rounds and possibly get caught. The big question, however, will he be far enough in front?

Oliver grabbed another best on ground, too, to move up to outright second spot (23 votes)

    Leaderboard after round 15:

    27 - Bontempelli
    23 - Oliver
    21 - Wines
    20 - Parish
    19 - Walsh
    16 - Boak
    15 - Mundy
    14 - Petracca

He’s had a super period between rounds eight and 14.

Bontempelli picked up another three votes in the final bye weekend (round 14) to move up to 24 votes.

Oliver, Wines and Parish are second on 20.

The Bulldog gets up to 21 votes after round 12, leapfrogging Clayton Oliver.

And Bomber Darcy Parish races up to 20 votes, too.

That’s FOUR best on grounds in a row for the Bomber who, all must remember, had only polled two career votes before tonight.

Melbourne’s Clayton Oliver the first to get to the 20-vote mark (after round 11)

No votes from Bontempelli there, but another 3-voter from Darcy Parish (17 votes)

    What a count!

Another three votes to the Bontempelli! The star Bulldog is out to 18 votes.

But both Clayton Oliver and Sam Walsh are right there with him.

    Round 10 leaderboard:

    18 - Bontempelli
    17 - Oliver
    16 - Walsh
    14 - Parish
    13 - Boak

Bontempelli keeps the outright lead, polling two votes against Port Adelaide in round nine

The star Bulldog is the outright leader with 13 votes (four best on grounds) after eight rounds.

Travis Boak is polling very well at Port Adelaide - that could cost Wines dearly.

    Round eight leaderboard:

    13 - Marcus Bontempelli
    12 - Sam Walsh
    11 - Clayton Oliver
    11 - Ollie Wines
    11 - Travis Boak
    10 - Christian Petracca

Sam Walsh goes to the outright lead with 12 votes. He rightfully picked up a BOG for his great game in the win over Essendon.

    Round 7 leaderboard:

    12 - Sam Walsh
    11 - Ollie Wines
    10 - Christian Petracca
    10 - Marcus Bontempelli
